How long do I have to wait for an assessment?

Once an initial contact and referral is made, I can normally offer an appointment within one to two weeks.

Do I get an assessment report?

A report is always provided following an initial assessment at no extra cost.

How long are the sessions?

Assessment sessions are 1 hour and an average therapy session is 45 minutes.

Am I able to sit in on a therapy session?

Parents are encouraged to attend and
participate where possible.

What about ideas to work with my child at home?

Ideas to support your childs development at home, and progress reports are given.

Can my childs teacher be involved?

Others working with your child e.g. teacher and support personnel, are welcome to attend sessions. I also try to communicate to teachers and support staff and/or provide suggestions to further assist them develop their programmes at kindergarten/school.

Are there any rebates to help cover the cost?

Accounts can be submitted to your private health fund for rebate. Please phone them to check how much you will receive back.

Some children are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for up to five sessions per year or a carers allowance from Centrelink. Please call me if you would like further information on these different rebates and allowances.
